Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Training

The American Heart Association’s Heartsaver First Aid AED CPR class teaches trainees how to deliver first aid, CPR, and use an AED in a safe, fast, and effective manner.  Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Who should take this course?

Anyone with little or no medical experience who requires a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements, or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any context should take the AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED training course. Please have a look at our BLS for Healthcare Providers class if you are a healthcare provider or are obliged to have a BLS certification.

Learning Options

Blended Learning Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Online

Students seeking an alternative manner of earning an initial or renewal CPR/AED certification can use this web-based, self-directed curriculum. The curriculum equips students with the vital skills and knowledge they’ll need to respond to and manage an emergency in the initial few minutes before EMS arrives. CPR and the use of an AED are among the topics covered.

Part 1:

Heartsaver Courses is the eLearning component of Blended Learning; this course uses a range of eLearning assets to teach students CPR/AED knowledge and skills, including dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities.

Part 2:

Students attend a structured CPR/AED Hands-On Session with an AHA Instructor after finishing the online component. This session focuses on practical skills practice, such as doing CPR and using an AED, as well as skills testing.

Part 3:

Students will receive the same Heartsaver card as if they had taken the classroom version of the course after successfully completing Part 1 & 2. This class appeals to students since it allows them to finish a section of the course at their own schedule.
